hey girls (: this wasn’t requested, but I feel like this is just a necessary tip to have around. ♥ so it’s just a tip on make-up for beginners, recommendations, and a few little tips in general.
first, let’s just start out by saying you don’t need make-up to feel or be beautiful. (: you’re beautiful no matter what, make-up is just made to accentuate your best features. ♥
okay, I’d recommend beginning with a palette of neutral eye shadows. neutrals consist of browns, goldens and skin colors. (: I really like the e.l.f warm palette that I got from target for about $5. it works so great because it has like 30 colors. if you don’t have them at your target, you can always order them and I was surprised that e.l.f had such good quality products. just a few nice shimmery and matte shades of eye shadow is all you need for an everyday look. the palette I’m talking about has amazing colors ranging from dark to light, so you can use the light colors for day time and the darker ones for night events. (: ♥ also, Maybelline has smaller palettes with 3 or 4 colors that help you make looks. (: they range from natural nudes to purples to smokey eyes, so you can pick what you want. ♥ plus they’re super easy to use because they tell you where to put each color and there’s tiny pictures on the back(:
next thing I think you need is a good mascara. I don’t recommend water-proof mascaras because they are formulated to dry very fast and that makes them stick to your eye lashes. so when you go to remove your make up, it will be harder to take off and you may not get it all off. :/ but, I really like the Maybelline Falsies Mascara the Flared kind in Black. It works amazing and makes my eyelashes so long and volumized. (: plus, it makes them look SO thick and curly. it holds a curl all through the school day for me. ♥ if you have black or brown hair, I’d suggest going with black mascara. if you have lighter brown hair, I’d suggest a dark brown or brown mascara. if you’re a blonde, go for a brown mascara.
for blush, get a natural flush shade. something pink or peachy will match ANY skin tone. (: I reaaally like the Maybelline fit me blushes. (: I think they’re so great because you pick your skin tone and then they give you three different shades to choose from. ♥ plus, they’re really good quality and are formulated for all skin types, EVEN sensitive. because I have sensitive skin and it doesn’t make me allergic. you can get these from wal-mart or target for the best prices. ♥ I also, have FALLEN IN LOVE with Maybelline Bouncy Blushes(: They’re so cool and easy to apply. You can go for a brighter color because they blend SO nicely into your skin! and IT BOUNCES BACK when you touch it!
if you wantt, you could get an eye-liner. (: I’d suggest pencil liner because it’s easier for beginners, then you could get into liquids and gels. I would try colorstay by I thinnkk Revlon. (: ♥ it’s easy to glide on and retractable which is nicee ♥ but, try to match it up with your mascara color, so black or brown. (: Also, Maybelline has a really good eyeliner, so if I find the name I’ll list it below. (:
since we’re teenagers, and we all get the occasional problematic zit or two, you may want to consider a concealer. concealer is something you definitely want to invest on, because if you just get a cheap concealer, it can cause a bad reaction, or even worse… more pimples. :p which is a no-no. I suggest maybe getting one from the Sonia Kashuk line from target. she creates higher-end products, but she has an exclusive line with target for beginners and people who want to start with make-up. There’s a concealer palette that comes with three different colored concealers, and a color corrector. these will all come in handy, and they all blend so nicely. they are creamy and again, will blend into your skin beautifully. ♥ (: and I think that’s around… $11.
LASTLY, chapstick and lip gloss! (: my all time FAVORiTE chapstick is BABY LiPS! they make your lips feel so smooth and if you keep applying it, you will see so much improvement in your lips! I know it sounds strange, but I live by it. (: they come in a bunch of different tints and smell SO good! :D my favorite are the clear ones, which come in the flavors peppermint and… something that has to do with fruits but it smells like fruit loops and it’s SOOO yummy. (: they also have fruit flavors that will give your lips a luscious flush of color. for lip gloss, you could experiment with many different brands. an all time favorite for me is the maybelline fruit explosion lip glosses. (: I love fruity things! they smell so good! my favorite one is the guava one, it’s the perfect shade for a natural, but pinky pout. :D and you can get these all from the drug stores(: you do not have to buy an expensive, high end lip gloss because I personally see NO difference.
SO, to sum it all up, I’ll make a little check-list that you can take to the store with you. I’ll list the products and then in parenthesis, I’ll put brands and shades. (:
